initial consultation & quote
The very first part of the process is to meet and discuss the project brief. Whether thats for an extension, loft conversion or a new house, we will explain the process house T1 Architecture will guide you through the process. From this we will prepare our fee quote.
Measured survey
Once we have been formally appoitned, we will come and measure your house to make sure we have all the correct and accurate measurements. This will allow us to prepare the most accurate drawings for your property.
Design
After the existing drawings of the house have been prepared we will then prepare an initial design drawing for you to review. This may not be a fully complete drawing but it will give you an idea of the space we are creating. This gives us a chance to then update any drawings accordingly.
planning submission
Once we have agreed the design, and you are happy to proceed, we will then submit the relevant application to the Local Authority. Whether this is a planning application or a certifiate of lawful development application.
Additional consultants may be required to support your applicatoin such as a planning statement, ecological reports or contamination reports.
Building regulation drawings
The next drawing stage are the buildling control plans. These go into detail about the works and give builders everything they need to price the works. At this stage we will also engage any structural engineers, party wall surveyors or any other consultants required to take the project furher.
building control submission
The last application will be a submission to building control. They look at the plans and approve them. They will also then carry out inspections throughout the construction phase and then issue a completion certificate once the works have been completed.
